Customer Appreciation

Suppose you shopped somewhere a lot.
I mean a lot a lot.
Like you spent hundreds and thousands of dollars at this place.
Then suppose that this company wanted to send you a gift during the holidays to say thank you for shopping with them and being an amazing customer. What would you want them to send you?

Think about it and write your creative ideas.

If I decide to use your idea in our upcoming customer appreciation campaign, my company will send you the gift you suggested.

Fire away!

oh oh choose me! I would say $100 on an AMEX card to spend wherever you choose - maybe I'd even spend it at your "store" :)

I'd choose a voucher for 2 free airline tickets to a destination of MY choosing, and not limited to just the U.S.

Maybe I'd come to Grenada!!

Definitely travel stuff: a cruise or an all-expenses-paid weekend getaway or something like that.
Ok, so this is what I would do; I would give one of those cute colored "KitchenAid" mixers, the cute, classy bright colored ones, along with a few packaged tins of "Sprinkles Cupcakes" and some cute silicon cupcake pans! How better to say thank you than through food! And better yet, the most delicious cupcakes and cute materials to make them :) I know, me and food... haha

"Your business is worth a mint to us"...or something lame like that...find some delicious minty truffles or something. (this would be if you were sending it to SEVERAL clients or accounts because it would be easy to mass produce).

Tell me how many people this is for and a budget.

This is for thousands of customers. Budget = $50 per customer. Ready, set, go!

Well know you tell us. So much for the yacht and matching wave runners. And I was sure I was going to get it too.

A fifty dollar voucher for a massage or a fifty dollar certificate to a hair salon. I am thinking with this economic crisis some people can't afford to pamper themselves anymore. Specially single moms!

Because everybody loves food, I would say that a $50 gift card to a pretty common restaurant (Darden Restaurants-Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Bahama Mama, and Smokey Bones). If you by A LOT, and I mean A LOT of gift cards from them, they give discounts on the cards, the more cards you buy, the better the discount. Darden restaurants do this and you can find most if not all of their restuarants in most states.

If I love a store, then I want more money to spend there, so give them a $50 gift card to your store... plus your store will get more money out of it, because chances are they'll totally spend more than the $50 you give them! Win-win!

First rule, reinforce the behavior you are rewarding. Shopping at the big "O".

Second rule, create an opportunity to reinforce your marketing message. It is an upcoming 10 year anniversary.

Thank your most loyal customers by offering an additional "10" percent off each order during the anniversary year. You can set your budget as an upper limit to the benefit.

You keep them shopping. You also reinforce that you are one Internet company that is going to be around a long time.

I think you should go gift-card route on this one...it appeals to the greatest amount of people. I think a way that you could do it best would be to give some sort of giftcard- like $50 Visa or a $50 Giftcard to your company (to keep them shoppin' for more) but accompany that with some sort of discount coupon to give them an incentive to keep coming back: like to celebrate you, here is a 15% or 25% off any single item coupon...or a buy one get one 50% off coupon...something like that, that will motivate your big spender to find something else to buy at your store. I wanna win :) So I'll add, I love you and I hope I win. xoxo

Don't do a VISA gift card though. We got one for our wedding and apparently each month you don't use it they charge you like $5 or something. By the time we got around to using it, it was all spent on fees for not using it right away.

Good to know, Ali! That's crappy.
