Book Worms, Anyone?

I haven't been very much of a book worm this summer which my albino body is probably thanking me for. Alas I miss having my nose stuck in a book. Any book recommendations for me? I'm looking for something uplifting I suppose; I tend to read really depressing books and some friends think that's a little weird.

If you like Nicholas Sparks at all - I know his books are usually depressing, but The Wedding is fantastic. It's sort of the sequel to The Notebook, but not really. It about Noah and Allie's daughter and her marriage. I seriously LOVED it! And I know that some of his books are a little too mushy mushy, but I promise this one is really good.
We have read some of the Narnia Chronicles together, and are working on a fun book called "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" (part of which takes place in Portugal!). These have all been good reads. And then, of course, there's always, and will always be, "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn." Happy reading!
Okay, my turn. When I don't know what to read, I figure you can never go wrong with a good classic. Here are some of my favorites: "Swiss Family Robinson," "Crime and Punishment," "The Brothers Karamazov," "Treasure Island," "The Grapes of Wrath," "Robinson Crusoe" to name a few. I've got more ideas if you want 'em!

I only have depressing suggestions, as usual. Let me know when you are ready to be really traumatized, I have some books for you.
