Golfing and Goobers

This last weekend Blair and I woke up early Saturday morning and hit the golf course. Blair's one of those people that doesn't believe much in easy transitions or slowly getting used to something. He thinks the best way to learn something is to just fearlessly jump in head first. And so, on my first real day out on the green, Blair decided that 18 holes on a difficult course would break me in the quickest. I think I held in there pretty good...for 9 holes at least. Blair lovingly commented that my lanky arms started to look like noodles halfway through the morning. Who knew golf was so hard?!!! I need to start lifting weights or something. Despite the noodley extremities, we're a pretty smokin' duo and we're excited to start a more serious training for the PGA. This is an official challenge to any other couples willing to try their luck against us...

After finishing up our round of golf, we went and picked up Kami's kids and took them to Lagoon. She and her husband were out of town for a funeral, so we took care of them on Saturday and Sunday. We had such a blast with them! Kids make everything so much more fun AND challenging :) Some of the highlights of the weekend with them were:

- After Blair, Jacob, and Nathan got off of a ride three-year-old Nathan said, "My weinerschnitzel didn't like that ride!"

- Nathan going through the lovely stages of potty-training. Needless to say he managed to poop all over the bathroom seat, the bathroom floor, and himself in a matter of seconds. I can't even imagine how so much came out of that little body!

- Sariah was so excited that we were taking them to get slurpies at 7-11 at 10 pm after Lagoon. None of the kids had ever been there before. Sariah said, "I'm so excited to go get slur..slur...slur..slur....what are those called again?!!"

- Jessica was just as excited. On the car ride there she said, "Are we at the F-11 yet?" She kept mixing the words up all night. So funny.

Wow. This is ridiculously long! If you made it this long you're my new best friend. Whew!

Ashley and Blair--thanks so much for spoiling our children while we were away. They kept talking about the late night "slurshies", Lagoon fun, and going to your "bigger" apartment. They are so lucky to have you. Thanks a million. We love you!

You are a trooper for playing golf and then doing Lagoon! Wow, you're gonna be an over-achiever mama someday. You've got way too much energy.
