Valiant Gumballs

May I introduce you to our Valiant 9 & 10 year old class.
For the last 6 months, our class has been filling up a gum ball machine with different colors of gumballs every time they read their scriptures, share the gospel or serve someone. They finally filled up the machine with a rainbow of righteousness and we decided to have a gumball themed party to celebrate their achievement. Teaching this class has been such a joy. They make us laugh every week with their little quirks and mishaps. Here are just a few of our favorites:

Jessica misread a scripture one day and said, "...for such is the kindergarten of God."

As I was at the crucial moment of my lesson about Joseph Smith's First Vision, I asked the class if any of them knew what Joseph Smith saw when the light fell upon him. Josh blurted out right then, "dinosaurs!!!" We end up incorporating dinosaurs into a lot of our lessons lately.

Larissa got up to share a scripture during sharing time. She forgot what verse I had pointed to and ended up reading this one instead "and all of the liars shall be thrust down to hell." All of the primary leaders looked at me with a disapproving look. Nice one, Sister Willis. Nice.

More funny moments to come.

Those are great one-liners. Our funny story to add is from my sister, Rachel. When she was about 8, she took the sacrament one day and said, "That was delicious!"

By the way, your other posts have been well-written/funny/insightful. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your future baby right now. We've got your back.

Don't you love Primary kids. They say the funniest things at times. And the best is when you ask a question and then they tell you their grandma came to visit and they all had pizza and then everyone talks about pizza....and so on. Ahh.
